Our long term Client, a prestigious and growing Insurer, is looking for additional Senior Claims Adjusters.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB :
To handle a claims load of more complex, predominantly Reinsurance, claims in accordance with claims procedures and any SLA’s agreed with clients.
To assist with the review and integration of reinsurance claims and contract files. To process all claims in accordance with agreed procedures, ensuring that dormant and settled claims are closed, volatile claims are identified and ongoing claims are allocated to the appropriate claims teams, including the identification and allocation of complex US claims.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE SENIOR CLAIMS ADJUSTERS ROLE
Handle a claims load of more complex, predominantly Reinsurance, claims in accordance with claims procedures and any SLA’s agreed with clients.
Identify volatile files and take appropriate action to protect the Company’s position.
Identify any claims subject to commutation and take appropriate action.
Use own claims experience to review all claims and identify and close dormant claims, in order to maximise savings.
Review all non-dormant claims, obtaining updates from brokers as required, identifying all unactioned correspondence and dealing with it as appropriate.
Take ownership of and record issues raised on the Issues Log, recording action taken and resolution, and communicate to the rest of the Team.
There are large volumes of reinsurance claims outstanding on various portfolios. Each contract and claim must be individually reviewed, which includes contacting the broker as necessary, processing any outstanding post, amending claims handler details, amending estimates as necessary and closing dormant claims in accordance with agreed rules.
The classes of reinsurance business include: US Property / Catastrophe; General Liability (UK and US); Marine, Aviation and Transport.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE
Technical skills
• A number of years experience in handling a range of reinsurance claims.
• Ability to handle and /or acquire an understanding of different classes of reinsurance business.
• Sound knowledge of the London Insurance and Reinsurance Market
