Our Client a well known Broker in Chelmsford, has an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join their team to manage the technical administration of all classes of commercial lines insurance.
The role is initially to support the Directors and after a short time the role will develop to handling a portfolio of own clients
Overall Objective:-
To develop the profitability of the business whilst ensuring full FSA compliance and ensuring a quality service is provided to all clients in accordance with the needs and requirements.
The role will include the following aspects:
New Business
Ensure that all quotation requests are dealt with in a timely and compliant manner.
Compiling new business presentations for submission to underwriters
Discussions with client including details of cover, premium, terms, conditions and significant exclusions
Setting up new file in appropriate manner and loading details on to Misys
Checking policy documentation when received from Insurers, ensuring accuracy as per agreement at quotation stage
Sending out documentation in a compliant manner in good time
Renewals
Completion of the Pre-renewal event note on misys on all renewals to provide the client with a gap analysis of their insurance cover.
Obtain current information from client to ensure that we are able to meet his Demands and Needs
Record any significant changes or exclusions
Confirm why you feel that the particular product is suitable for the clients needs
Mid Term Adjustments
Dealing with amendments to clients policies and contacting Insurers to instruct.
Updating records on Misys and preparing documentation for dispatch to client
Issuing cover notes as required and setting up entry under the cover note diary
Check policy documentation on receipt from insurers , ensuring that there are no errors or omissions, before sending out to client
Client Liaison
Communicating with clients and advising on any change to premium and policy Terms and Conditions.
Daily telephone contact with client in a professional manner and returning calls promptly
Dealing with Insurers
Contacting Insurers on instructions received from clients
Chasing renewals to ensure that they are received and forwarded to clients in good time
Chasing endorsements and ensuring that they are accurate before sending out to clients.
Credit Control
Setting up new clients on the Misys System, accurately
Ensure that Direct Debit Mandates are sent off to Insurers promptly
Liaising with Third Party Finance Providers eg Premium Credit Ltd or Insurer installments Facilities
Claims
All instructions received from clients must be advised to the appropriate Insurers Claims Department immediately
Compliance
Ensuring that the client is provided with all relevant documentation and disclosure information within prescribed formats and time frames.
Ensuring that the clients Demands and Needs are discussed and providing a suitability
To comply with the firms Money Laundering Protocols.
To adhere to the Complaints Procedure at all times
To adhere to the Data Protection Protocols at all times
The successful applicant will have:
1. Good Commercial Insurance knowledge (Motor Fleet, Commercial Property & Liability, Commercial Motor, Small Packages are the main requirements. A working knowledge of personal lines motor insurance would help).
2. Confident interpersonal skills and self motivation
3. Accurate administration and good time management ability
4. Strong team working ethic
5. Good IT knowledge Misys would be an advantage
