Our Client, a major player in their chosen markets, is continuing to expand its business and as part of their plans are seeking to recruit an experienced Development Underwriter.
As Development Underwriter you will be responsible for developing and growing new business opportunities within the region. The focus will be on developing home and motor business but will involve underwriting and developing all personal lines business.
The role will involve extensive broker development and the successful candidate will be expected to actively identify cross sell opportunities and to build the business.
Key responsibilities
• Underwrite consistently and profitability
• Develop close, effective relationships with brokers
• Regularly visit broker partners and write their business
• Challenge non-standard underwriting decisions
• Identify non performing accounts and take remedial steps to improve this business
Key requirements
• Relevant development underwriting experience
• Drive, self motivation and determination to achieve results
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills combined with a proven track record of relationship management and customer focus
• Able to make decisions with supervision in difficult and complex situations.
• Strong influencing, negotiation and leadership skills
• ACII qualification or progression towards qualification
