Our market leading Client is looking for experienced Underwriters to enhance their professional team.
Purpose of job
Underwriting allocated mid-term adjustments and queries to support the achievement of the business unit’s required income and profit objectives.
Main tasks
1. To underwrite allocated mid-term adjustments and queries, ensuring that individual risks are underwritten in accordance with binding authority agreements and the individual’s personal underwriting licence, and within agreed service deadlines
2. To ensure that all relevant management information is available to enable effective management of the business unit’s underwriting performance including, but not necessarily limited to, service standard achievement and pricing strength
3. To work closely with credit control and finance colleagues to investigate and resolve outstanding underwriting queries from brokers that are preventing collection of overdue premiums, in accordance with agreed service standards
At all times acting in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements or principles and delegated authority agreements.
The successful applicant will have a background in Commercial Underwriting and ideally some progression in their professional studies
