This brand new role supports our Clients strategic growth plans further into Commercial business. The role will oversee the development and maintenance of relationships between the sales force and underwriting teams to deliver a market leading new business quotation and policy issue service.
Job Specification
The successful applicant will use their extensive Commercial knowledge together with their relationship and change management skills to deliver best practice.
You will
- Liaise with and support the Sales teams and their staff, together with the Operations Team, to actively develop sustainable, profitable Commercial growth.
- Work closely with the Senior Underwriting Technicians and be a referral point for all Commercial new business enquiries.
- Provide Commercial technical expertise and support to planned training sessions for the sales teams in conjunction with the Operations Team.
- Accept and review general insurance risks in line with the current company underwriting philosophy and risk appetite.
- Train, coach and develop the technical/sales skills of their sales and support staff.
- Support Underwriting Team leaders in delivering an efficient, quality service
- Handle your own personal work load of the more complex Commercial Wider Market cases, including customer visits when required.
- Share the highest level of underwriting authority in the Region with the Senior Underwriting Technicians
Personal Specification
In addition to having a successful background in Commercial underwriting together with strong interpersonal and change management skills, you will need to be able to demonstrate all the usual attributes:
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making
- Good organisation and planning
- Ability to deliver results within timescales
- Good report writing and presentation skills
Required Qualifications
You should be ACII qualified.
