Commercial Underwriter
£18,000 - £20,000, Ipswich
Our market leading Client is looking for an Underwriter to enhance their professional team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for Underwriting Commercial risks within delegated authority guidelines for selected clients.
Main Responsibilities
- Produce New Business quotations within scheme parameters
- Calculate and invite renewal for existing clients
- Achieve client retention targets
- Underwrite and process mid term adjustments
- Refer to insurers where agreed or necessary, always with suggested course of action
- Maintain professional working relationships with insurers, brokers, clients, trade associations and colleagues
- Ensure accuracy of documentation issued and data recorded in respect of clients’ insurance arrangements
- Identifying opportunities to cross sell new covers to existing clients
- Participate in collective decision making, team planning and initiatives to achieve improvements in respect of quality, efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide assistance when requested to team members and colleagues
At all times acting in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements or principles and delegated authority agreements.
The successful applicant will have a background in Commercial Underwriting.
