Senior Claims Negotiator
£22,000 - £25,000 & first class benefits, Colchester
Our Client, who has an enviable reputation in the Insurance market, is continuing to grow and we are recruiting for additional Senior Claims professionals to join their Claims team.
The team comprises of highly customer focused and dedicated individuals who all strive to deliver the very best service and go the extra mile.
The successful candidate will work within the Property Claims department delivering a high quality claims service to household customers. This role will to be deliver a superior claims handling service, alongside supporting the Team Leader in ensuring that the team are well managed and motivated at all times to deliver first class customer service.
Key responsibilities
• Handle all claims in a proactive manner and within set service levels
• Respond to telephone calls from policyholders, brokers, loss adjusters and other experts
• Negotiate and settle claims fairly; showing initiative in your approach
• Act as a point of referral for Claims Negotiators on a day to day basis
• Ensure that the team negotiate and settle claims fairly and proactively; with an emphasis on prompt resolution and ensuring the customer is kept informed
• Assist the Team Leader in providing focus and leadership to the team to achieve the agreed service and productivity levels
• Motivate the team to meet and exceed the agreed SLA’s, ensuring that these are well managed during times of claims surge
• Assist the Team Leader with managing resources and call flows throughout the day
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and be an ambassador of the Claims Department
Person specification
• Experience of handling claims, preferably within household claims
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a proven track record of customer focus
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills
• Outgoing and confident, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in a methodical manner and meet deadlines
• Previous experience of mentoring or coaching others would be preferable
