A market leading Insurer is looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager for their growing region.

With considerable support you will be responsible for delivering profitable growth, focusing on New Business and Renewal Optimisation with your Broker panel.

You will have the autonomy to build and develop these key relationships and ability to trade effectively.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) responsibilities will include:

  • Proactive management of the renewal books, working in advance and agreeing the approach.
  • Improving business mix in designated areas and segments in line with strategic targets
  • Cost effective growth of accounts including the deals, cross sale, up-sale and conversation rates
  • Developing and maintaining an excellent understanding of key customers to ensure that their needs are being met and that their business is retained
  • Liaising with relevant internal departments to ensure that customer needs are met and that customer requirements are fully communicated throughout the business
  • Undertaking analysis and producing business plans to ensure that all business development opportunities are optimised and their risks assessed
  • Responsible for the quality of visits, regularity, planning and reporting

To be a successful BDM you will demonstrate:

  • Experience of General Insurance and knowledge of the commercial market
  • Proven record in a Broker facing role with the ability to build and maintain profitable relationships
  • Hands on approach with a "can do" attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively using own initiative
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
