Our client is an insurance brokerage and specialty risk management firm. Based in Colchester for thirty years, they provide innovative, personal solutions to a wide variety of commercial and private clients with large, complex or delicate risks and specialised insurance needs. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for new clients taking full advantage of in house marketing resources to generate and secure new business
  • Organising and attending meetings with prospective clients to gain relevant information to enable successful tender for their insurance business
  • Assessing risks held by the client and any future risks that the client may be exposed to, in order to obtain the most extensive cover available for the most competitive terms
  • Preparing new business summaries and quotations to a high standard and in line with correct regulatory policies and procedures
  • Ensuring all written documents and client meetings adhere to FCA regulatory standards
  • Taking responsibility for securing new business and maintaining service standards up to handing over to Commercial Team
  • Providing clear and accurate new business instructions to colleagues and maintain computer records to a high standard
  • Building excellent working relationships with potential prospects and clients and represent the Group in a professional manner at all times
  • Entertaining clients to gain a greater understanding of their business to secure and maximise referral opportunities for the group

Essential Skills, Capabilities and Attributes:

  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and networking skills
  • Excellent sales management skills with proven ability to achieve targets for new business development
  • Professional appearance combined with a can do attitude
  • Ability to work in multi site locations, while maintaining client and colleague contact and ensuring an up to date and compliant workload
  • Experience of working in a business to business sales arena
  • Commercial Insurance awareness combined with the drive and motivation to be aware and ahead of industry competitors
